In 1979 I played drums for Ed and Stan in The Impacts, but they were really good musicians and way too serious, so they fired me. I wanted to sing, so I put together The Eagertones to open up for other bands for fun. But that band was too successful and way too much work, so they fired me. I tried singing the blues with Mike and Ken, but they were also good and serious musicians, so they fired me. I took a 17 year break from serious music, but I missed the fun -- and a seriously good and fun band called The Kingdogs was born. So far, they haven’t fired me.
